Patch Repair

In short A short sectional liner — typically 600 mm to a few metres — cured in place over a single defect, instead of relining the whole pipe.

A patch (sectional liner) uses the same resin-and-fabric principle as full relining, but targets one defect: a single crack, a displaced joint or one root entry point. A packer carries the resin-wetted patch to the exact spot located by CCTV, inflates, and holds until cured.

Patching is economical when a drain is otherwise sound. Multiple defects spread along a pipe usually tip the balance toward a full-length liner.

What Is It For?

Fixes isolated pipe defects trenchlessly at a fraction of full relining scope.

Where You'll Find It

Anywhere a camera and packer can reach — house drains, mains and stormwater lines.

Common Problems

  • Only as good as the defect location accuracy
  • Edges must seal well or roots find the gap
  • Not suitable where the pipe is deformed

How DrainSpy Brisbane Deals With It

A CCTV drain inspection is the standard way to confirm whether this is what's happening in your pipes: the camera shows the condition on screen, a locator pinpoints the exact position and depth, and you get a recorded report before any repair decisions are made.
